A journey shaped by beauty, purpose, and direction.

There is another shore: quieter, more elemental, older in the way it holds its stories.

Not every Adriatic journey begins in Venice

The Adriatic Odyssey is born from that way of seeing.

From Trieste — a border city of cafés, wind, and memory — the journey opens toward the Dalmatian coast and some of its ancient islands: stone villages, quieter coves, time on the water, vineyards, monasteries, dinners by the sea, and local stories.

A journey designed to let you discover the region at your own pace, turning its many possibilities into a clear, enjoyable, and personal route.

The real challenge: the Adriatic looks easy

A different way to experience the Adriatic

At first glance, it seems simple: beautiful cities, beaches, famous islands, and a coastline that invites you to keep moving.

But the sea has its own rules.

Distances require attention.
The wind can change your plans.
The season transforms each place.
And too many stops can turn beauty into fatigue.

That is why, before deciding where to stay or what to visit, there is a more interesting question:

What kind of Adriatic are you hoping to find?

One defined by famous names and many stops.

Or one that leaves time to connect with the landscape, the history, and the life of this other shore.

Where it takes place

This journey moves between the northern Adriatic and its eastern coast.

It may begin in Trieste, a city of borders between Italy, Central Europe, and the sea.

From there, the route can continue toward Dalmatia, its small coastal towns, ancient islands, and a few quiet refuges by the water.

Trieste → Eastern Adriatic Coast → Dalmatia → Ancient Islands → Refuges by the sea

The map traces the journey as a way to understand the territory before deciding how to travel through it.

The final itinerary is shaped by the season, your interests, your pace, and the way you would like to travel.

Reference duration: 8 days / 7 nights

It can be extended or adapted depending on the scope of the journey.

Two ways to experience the Odyssey

We look for accommodations and bases that feel rooted in their surroundings: stone houses, seaside villages, and quiet bays. Small boutique or family-run hotels, chosen for their character, location, and ability to support the rhythm of the journey.

The character and beauty of each place matter more than its category.

The Journey

For those who enjoy moving forward in stages.

A more itinerant, narrative route, where each stop opens a new chapter: city, coast, island, sea, and return.

There is movement, but also enough time for each place to have its moment.

Quedarse también forma parte del viaje: una buena base permite mirar el mismo paisaje con otros ojos al segundo o tercer día.

The Sanctuary

For those who prefer to settle more deeply into the journey.

A slower version, with one main base or fewer hotel changes, and carefully chosen outings from there.

More time to return to the same café, recognize a harbor, leave an afternoon open, or linger...

Two ways to experience the same Adriatic

The difference lies mainly in the pace, the sequence, and the way you want to experience the region.

The Adriatic is also understood from the water. Some experiences need to open onto the sea, the rhythm of the wind, and the changing light of day.

Our vision

About L' Atelier Viajes,

A coffee and an introductory conversation

Bea Haubi, founder of L’Atelier Viajes

More than four decades in tourism, travel design, and working closely with travelers have taught us something essential: the decisions that most transform an itinerary are rarely the most spectacular.

Sometimes it is one more night.
A better-chosen base.
A logical transfer.
A small detour that ends up becoming the story you tell most often when you return home.

The Adriatic Odyssey is born from this way of looking at travel: bringing together place, culture, logistics, and pace so that every choice supports the journey as a whole.

What our travelers say

“What we valued most was the itinerary planning: not an endless list of options, but a route shaped with discernment, rhythm, and sensitivity. Every choice seemed to have a reason behind it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Answering your questions before we design together

Is this a route through Croatia’s most visited places?

The journey may include some well-known places when they genuinely enrich the route, but the focus is on creating a more personal, unhurried experience of the eastern Adriatic coast.

Each stop is chosen according to where it falls in the journey and the value it adds to the experience as a whole.

Not necessarily.

On some journeys, spending a night on an island is worthwhile; on others, a well-chosen boat outing can offer enough time at sea without adding another hotel change.

The season, connections, and your preferred pace help determine what makes the most sense.

It can be adapted to different levels of activity and mobility.

We discuss this from the beginning so that bases, routes, walks, transfers, and experiences are realistic for everyone traveling.

In the Adriatic, the weather is part of the design.

Navigation and certain experiences depend on wind and sea conditions, so we allow for alternatives and enough flexibility to make sensible decisions along the way.

Yes. You can use the route design as your guide and make the reservations yourself.

If you prefer to delegate that part as well, you can add our booking management and coordination service.

The reference duration is 8 days / 7 nights.

A shorter version can focus on Trieste and one selected extension. With more time, we can add further stages without sacrificing the pace of the journey.

As a reference:

Estimated journey cost from USD 1,520 per person, based on double occupancy, for 8 days / 7 nights.

To this, add USD 387 for the professional route design fee.

The final cost depends on the season, accommodations, navigation, selected experiences, and the final scope of The Adriatic Odyssey.

The optional booking and coordination service is quoted separately.

Yes. The journey can be adapted for couples, families, and small groups who want to experience the region privately, with a route designed around the way they like to travel.

Your Odyssey can begin with a conversation

Book a complimentary exploratory call of about 20 minutes

If Trieste could be the threshold to a broader journey, we can begin by discovering what kind of Adriatic makes sense for you.

We’ll talk about season, pace, interests, budget, and the way you want to experience the journey.

From there, we can decide whether The Journey, The Sanctuary or a combination of the two is the best place to begin.
